It has been an incredible journey from Stryj [Galicia], Poland to the the United States. Life under the Nazis was horrendous. My mother and I were the only survivors of my immediate family. A Polish family hid us along with thirty-three others in a sub-basement for eighteen months. We received food through a chimney. I ended up in a displaced persons camp in Blamberg, Germany, where I met the love of my life, David. He was also a child survivor, having lost his parents and brother. We were married in 1950. Sadly, I lost David in 2002. Life goes on with great hope for the future of the younger generation.
