Cyla Sokolowicz

Cyla Sokolowicz (neé Goldman) was born of a chassidic family in Lodz. Her father was a great scholar and Rabbi who imbued in her a love of learning, which was to endure all of her life. She supported Aron in his efforts to establish the Melbourne Holocaust Centre and became the founding editor of the Centre News. Her editorials were always labours of love and very thought provoking. In her personal diaries, Cyla expressed her admiration for Aron's energy, single mindedness and obsession with his mission to create a permanent Holocaust museum.
