I was born in Czechoslovakia in 1924. I had an older brother, Frank, and a younger sister, Klara. In 1944, we were deported to Auschwitz. My mother was murdered upon arrival. Klara and I remained together for six months until she was selected for medical experimentation, then shot. After liberation, I was reunited with my brother. We found our father in the hospital in Theresienstadt where he died four months later. In 1946, I married Bernard and had a daughter that I named after my sister, Klara. I am disappointed in humanity because I thought they had learned from the Holocaust.
